Area students enjoy performance by Charlotte Children’s Theatre

The clayton center school performance

If you were downtown this morning, you may have noticed some bus traffic around The Clayton Center as nearly 800 students from Clayton area schools attended a free performance in the auditorium

The Children’s Theatre of Charlotte presented two performances of Accidental Friends, a story for elementary and middle school students that explores the themes of acceptance, inclusion, influence and friendship. Attending a live theatre performance also teaches students to appreciate the role of theatre as an art form and illustrates theatre etiquette appropriate to the performance situation.

Third through fifth grade students from Cooper Academy, West Clayton Elementary, East Clayton Elementary and River Dell Elementary Schools enjoyed the show. The show was sponsored by the Clayton Cultural Arts Foundation and the Town of Clayton.
