Malpass Brothers
Mar 16 @ 8:00 pm

Malpass BrothersIf you like cornbread and hush puppies, you are going to love the Malpass Brothers. With sincerity, honesty and an utter ease on stage that belies their years, the Malpass Brothers’ smooth vocal blend and skillful musicianship layer into the deep respect they pay to legends who came before them.

As young boys, Christopher and Taylor soaked up the music of their granddad’s phonograph records. Christopher earned his first talent show trophy at age 7, and Taylor was playing mandolin by the time he was 10. Today, they promote the work and music of classic country artists they treasure while creating new music and making their own mark in the lineage of a rich American cultural heritage.

About Al Strong & The Fresh Five

This ensemble seeks to push the envelope in defying musical genres, with hints of AfroBeat, rock, jazz and soul music all nicely woven together.

It’s all dance music for this group and a chance for pure musical expression. When not performing in the Raleigh-Durham area, Al Strong balances his nonprofit and teaching responsibilities with traveling and performing. He is regularly booked in jazz scenes up and down the East coast, frequenting cities such as New York, DC and Atlanta. He has headlined his own shows at the BlueNote Jazz Festival, the Winter Jazz Fest, Blues Alley and a host of other clubs. At the heart of Strong’s work ethic is dedication to building a brand based on good, honest music that connects with and speaks to the listener’s hearts.
