It’s Christmas Time In Clayton

Carpenters Remembered

The holiday spirit is alive and well in Clayton. The Town sponsored a successful Christmas Village and Tree Lighting last week. This Saturday at 3 PM, the Clayton Rotary presents the annual Clayton Christmas Parade. Here at The Clayton Center, we have have been decking the halls in preparation for our annual December show – “We’ve Only Just Begun”: Carpenters Remembered.

Carpenters Remembered is the definitive show celebrating one of the most successful recording acts of all time. Karen and Richard Carpenter sold over a hundred million records in just over a decade and still hold the record for the most consecutive top-ten singles.  The dynamic combination of Karen’s voice and Richard’s compositions and arrangements created Grammy-winning magic and won them a worldwide legion of loyal fans.

This Saturday, December 10, at 8 PM, Michelle Berting Brett takes center stage accompanied by her 7-piece band of versatile Nashville musicians to recreate the sound of the Carpenters. In addition Michelle shares stories culled from extensive research and interviews with those who knew Karen and Richard both personally and professionally.  The result is a family show and an intimate behind the scenes profile of the pop music phenomenon that defined an era.
