The Celtic Tenors – three tenors, one voice.
All will be merry and bright on Main Street this Thursday evening, December 3, as Clayton celebrates its 25th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Thousands will pack Main Street to visit and shop in our local businesses, enjoy music and performances, see Santa, dress up their doggies and ride on a new kiddie train! The festivities begin at 5:30 PM. The tree lighting will be earlier this year, so be sure to head to Town Square by 8 PM! Visit the Town of Clayton online for more information.
Country & Western, Comedy In Store From Riders In The Sky
Saddle up and head on down to The Clayton Center on Saturday, Dec. 6, as the iconic Riders In The Sky take the stage to celebrate Christmas The Cowboy Way.
Hailed as “one of the most historically significant acts in the history of American music,” Riders In The Sky have been keepers of the flame passed on by legends such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers for more than 30 years. These talented musicians have remained true to the integrity of Western music and have themselves become modern-day icons by branding the genre with their own legendary wacky humor and way-out Western wit.
As a classic cowboy quartet, the trail has led Riders In The Sky to heights they could have never predicted. Riders have chalked up over 6100 concert appearances in all 50 states and 10 countries. They have performed their authentic renditions of old classic cowboy and Western songs, as well as original works and their signature comedic skits and songs in venues everywhere from the Nashville National Guard Armory to Carnegie Hall, and from county fairs to the Hollywood Bowl.
In 1982, Riders In The Sky became the first, and to date only, exclusively Western music artist to join the Grand Ole Opry, the longest running radio show in history. They are members of the Western Music Association’s Hall of Fame, the Country Music Foundation’s Walkway of Stars and the Walk of Western Stars in Newhall, CA. They have won two Grammy Awards, and have been the Western Music Association’s “Entertainers Of the Year” seven times.
