There are only two days left before the first-ever Miss Clayton is crowned as part of the Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant.

An affiliate of the Miss North Carolina and Miss America pageants, the Miss Clayton Pageant will be held Saturday, March 7, in conjunction with the 2015 Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant. Outstanding Teens will also compete for Miss Clayton’s OT and Miss Capital City’s OT. The pageant begins at 7 PM. The Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant has been held at The Clayton Center for the past two years. An “open” pageant, Miss Capital City features contestants from across the state.

Miss Clayton will be a closed pageant, with contestants hailing only from Johnston, Wake and Wilson counties.

The Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant is an affiliate of the Miss North Carolina pageant. The Miss North Carolina board recognizes 31 pageants as qualifiers for the state pageant, which feeds into the Miss America competition. Miss Johnston County is one of 11 other qualifying pageants that county residents may compete in.

More than $2,500 in scholarships will be awarded on Saturday, in addition to many other awards and opportunities. The event begins at 7 PM.

The Miss Capital City Scholarship Pageant also will crown the 2015 Outstanding Little Miss earlier in the day. That competition begins at 1 PM.

Later in the month, Clayton High School will crown the 2015 Miss CHS. The Miss Clayton Scholarship Pageant will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 6 PM.
