Town of Clayton offices, including The Clayton Center, Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, and the Clayton Community Center, will be closed on Friday, March 30. But you can get out with your preschoolers — ages 5 and younger — for some fun at the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10:30 AM at Clayton Community Park, 1075 Amelia Church Road.
More than 10,000 eggs will be spread across the baseball ball fields for the children to grab up into their baskets as fast as they can. Kids will be split into three age groups, so that the oldest ones don’t bump into those still learning to walk.
This popular event always draws a crowd, and attendees are encouraged to take advantage of overflow parking at the Clayton Community Center, 715 Amelia Church Road. Parking is available in a field and a lot at the community center, and it’s just a short, scenic walk on a trail through the woods to reach the Easter-Egg-hunting action at Clayton Community Park.
