Students come back to The Clayton Center stage

The Clayton Center is going back to its roots of providing a stage to showcase the talents of local students.

Carolina Youth Theatre completed a successful run of three performances of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town last weekend. This month The Clayton Center welcomes students from East Clayton Elementary School and Neuse Charter School to the stage.

The East Clayton Elementary School Drama Club — which features third-through fifth-grade students — will present Sleeping Beauty this week. Performances are Thursday, March 5, and Friday, March 6, at 7 PM. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $3 for students 12 and under (plus sales tax and fees).

The following week, students in the Neuse Charter School Fine Arts Department present Matilda, The Musical. The curtain will open on the show on Saturday, March 14, at 7 PM. Tickets for Matilda are$10 (plus sales tax and fees).

Additionally, local dance studios, as well as the Johnston County Chorus, will be staging production on The Clayton Center stage this spring. More information about these events will be available in April.

Tickets for all events in The Clayton Center Auditorium are available here, or by calling the box office at 919-553-1737.
