Follow The Yellow Brick Road To See “The Wizard of Oz”

Walk into The Clayton Center on a weekday this summer, and you can hear the sounds of the classic musical The Wizard of Oz. The cast of Carolina Youth Theatre (formerly Clayton Youth Theater) is hard at work rehearsing for their upcoming production.

CYT presents The Wizard of Oz on Friday, July 26, at 7 PM; Saturday, July 27, at 2 PM; and Thursday through Saturday, August 1 through 3, at 7 PM.

The CYT production is based on the children’s book by L. Frank Baum and the classic 1939 film starring Judy Garland.

When a tornado whisks Dorothy over the rainbow to the land of Oz, the Kansas farm girl sets off on a magical journey that requires brains, heart and courage. With Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion by her side, Dorothy learns the importance of friendship and that there really is “no place like home.”

Tickets for The Wizard of Oz are $15 for adults and $8 for students (18 & under), plus sales tax and fees. All seating is reserved. Tickets may be purchased through The Clayton Center Box Office in person or by phone at 919-553-1737, or online at theclaytoncenter.com.
