Tonight, Last Friday in Clayton returns to downtown. Expect more treats, surprises, and fun than ever before.
In an interview with the Town of Clayton, Dan Barbour Owner of Barbour Shop Creative Services and a driving force behind one of the most anticipated event series of the year, said that Last Friday in Clayton joins downtown’s daytime retail experience with its lively dining and nightlife scene.
According to Barbour, LFIC offers a hometown eating, drinking, and shopping all-in-one experience.
Usually, Clayton’s downtown businesses close around 5:00 pm. During LFIC, these businesses keep their doors open as late as 10:30 pm and share unique complimentary goodies with patrons. Shoppers can expect to find pop-up shops, live music, food trucks, and more.
“We love the energy that Last Friday in Clayton creates within Downtown! The vibe and feel of Clayton is amazing when our small businesses and community members come together to enjoy live music, local goods, and fun within downtown," said Erin Nenni from Three Little Birds Market. This store has booked a wide variety of musicians to play in their store each LFIC.
Barbour added that Last Friday in Clayton is also home to The Night Market, the evening counterpart of the Clayton Farmer and Community Market. The Night Market vendors feature local artists, handmade crafts, and boutique clothing and jewelry. The Night Market is located in Horne Square.
Last Friday in Clayton was created in 2016 to give residents an incentive to stay in Clayton on the weekends. In recent years, Downtown Clayton has welcomed new retail stores, restaurants, and bars, which has led to growth in Last Friday in Clayton's popularity. This year, Last Friday in Clayton has 37 participating businesses.
Our Town is so thankful for each of the downtown business owners that work to make the event happen for our residents. For more information and all the latest updates, visit the Last Friday in Clayton Facebook page. Last Friday in Clayton | Facebook
